The groundbreaking ceremony of our newest multi-facility health center campus in Chowchilla on Prosperity Ave. was held on Thursday, May 31st. Community leaders, Camarena Health staff and supporters gathered together to celebrate this momentous event. The campus will be located at 300 Prosperity Avenue, Chowchilla CA. It is scheduled to open early 2019, bringing new healthcare services to the community. Services will include medical, dental, behavioral health, optometry and health education services. We will also be adding an Internal Medicine physician and Pediatrician to Chowchilla in the coming months to support the expansion of providing quality healthcare services to the residents of Chowchilla.
On Friday, April 27th Camarena Health hosted the 4th Annual Health Careers Start Here-High School Youth Conference. The Conference was facilitated in partnership with Madera County COMPACT, the Madera County Superintendent of Schools and Madera Unified School District. Over 100 high school students in health career pathway programs, ROP programs, and/or students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, attended this year’s conference at Madera Community College Center.
Camarena Health celebrated National Women’s health week by hosting the third Women’s Health & Wellness Conference that took place on May 11, 2018 at the Pan American Center in Madera, CA. The goal of this conference was to empower women to make their health a priority and to help them understand what steps they can take to increase their health. Camarena Health understands that through education and empowerment, women can positively make changes that will improve their health. The conference targeted women in the underserved area of Madera County. Women in the surrounding areas were also welcomed to attend.
On Friday April 6th we celebrated the Grand Opening of the first ever School Based Health Center (SBHC) in Madera County. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on location at the SBHC which is conveniently located on campus at Madera South High School. Madera Unified trustees, educational leaders, city council members, Camarena board members and staff, as well as representatives of political leaders gathered together to celebrate with us this historic event. We want to thank everyone who came out to show their support.
