Reflecting on this year’s Scholarship Fundraiser, held on April 21 at the Veterans Memorial Building, we’re filled with gratitude. For the past 29 years Camarena Health has hosted an annual fundraiser luncheon to provide scholarships to local students attending college or vocational school to pursue a career in a medical or health related field. Our Camarena Health team, including board members, staff, and supportive community members, came together this spring to sale over 580 Tri-Tip lunches for a worthy cause. The atmosphere was vibrant, and the day was filled with good food, cheerful conversations, and an outpouring of generosity. Camarena Health Foundation was also able to secure three corporate sponsorships from CalViva Health, Equiscript, and Community Care IPA.
Raising over $20,000 dollars between purchased lunches and corporate sponsorships makes this one of the largest scholarship fundraisers to date! This sum has allowed us to offer ten scholarships of $2,000 each to deserving students from local high schools such as Madera High South, Madera High, Yosemite, Liberty, and Chowchilla High School. The award ceremony, conducted at the Madera County Superintendent of Schools Conference Center, was a memorable day. The gratification we felt as we watched the students receive their scholarships reaffirmed the value of our efforts.
Thank you all for your contributions, making this event a testament to community spirit and the importance of supporting education. We look forward to hosting more such meaningful events in the future.
