We are excited to share the success of our 10th Annual Camarena Classic Golf Tournament where we raised more than $80,000! On April 22nd, 144 golfers convened at the Dragonfly Golf Club to raise money supporting community benefit programs Camarena Health provides to patients and community members; programs such as Car Seats for Kids, Reach Out and Read, and the Camarena Health Scholarship Program.

In the morning, before golfers took to the fairway, they were treated to breakfast burritos by Cachanilla and drinks from Dutch Bros. For lunch, California EB5 Investments donated pizza delivered to players while they golfed. Golfers finished out their day with barbecue by Phil’s Corner Grill.

Golfers also had a number of opportunities to get a leg up on the competition throughout the day. 2016 International Long Drive Champion Patrick Bakerjian of Charity Golf International sat at hole 2 to hit drives for players who made extra donations. Many specialty games such as hole-in-one contests and long drive contests were sponsored by many local companies including 47^th Place Carpet One, Agriland, Bank of America, CAPP, Charity Golf International, Fresno Lexus, and Steve’s Chevrolet of Chowchilla. All players also received goodie bags with items from Athletic Design, HRBC, Noble Credit Union, and Roger Dunn Golf Shops.

While dinner was being served, we awarded prizes to the day’s best teams, with the team from HRBC Insurance taking home first place! The evening concluded with a raffle of over 30 generously donated prizes.

It is that generosity which will help us pay it forward through programs that serve our patients and community. As we look back on an entire decade of the Camarena Classic Charity Golf Tournament, we are thankful to everyone who has helped grow this event to what it is today.
